HAPO Community Credit Union is still offering attractive interest rates for their certificate of deposit deals. The mid-term CDs are the money in the bank opportunities with current interest rates as high as 1.40% APY for an 18-month CD; 2.10% APY for 3 years; and 2.35 for 4 years. You can enjoy these best interest rates with a minimum opening deposit of $5,000.
The current interest rates are a bit lower compared to what they offer last month but these certificates of deposit remain to be among the best in the market compared to what other internet banks offer.
You may qualify to sign up if you are living, working, studying, or attending church in Washington State. You can aslo get in through family. You may want to call their customer service line and clarify if you need to be living near one of their branches in order to qualify to open an account. In case you will be sending in some documents by mail, we were told that these papers need to be notarized.
