4.02% APY for 60-month certificate of deposit with Ohio Valley Community Credit Union

The
Ohio Valley Community Credit Union is pushing for their long term certificate of deposit deals with very competitive interest rates. The most attractive cd rates are gained by the 60-month CD at 4.02% APY. The best cd rates for the 48-month cd is also good at 3.14% APY while the 36-month deal earns 2.27% APY. These highest cd rates are available for both regular CDs and IRA.

It is not very common even for a long-term cd to have an interest rate that hits 4%. This is a money in the bank and you can open the CD for an initial deposit of $1,000 while $500 if you are getting it as an IRA.

The disclosure for the certificate of deposit states that early withdrawal may cause you penalties amounting to 182 days of earnings for the amount taken out. It seems though that the bank may refuse early withdrawal when you check the limitations of the transactions which state that you cannot withdraw the principal prior to its maturity.

Take note that the current cd rates are posted as of April 25 and it can be changed any time. Please check the latest figures prior to signing anything.
