Capital One Direct Banking Yields with Higher CD Yields at 5.20%

The 5 year CD of Capital One Bank yields higher APY at 5.20% carried through its Direct Banking segment available across the country. The other CD programs remain steady at 4.41% APY for an 18-month term, 5% APY for a 4 year CD, and 5.5% APY for the 7-year program.

The certificate requires a minimum deposit of $5000.

There are also Jumbo CD rates programs which require $100K minimum deposit to initiate. The 48 and 60 month Jumbo CDs earn a yield higher by 5 basis points. Costco members also earn extra 5 basis points.

Branch rates are still being offered at 5.25% APY for the 5-year CD and 4.5% APY for the 2-year CD. These certificates are opened by consumers during a bank visit with a minimum deposit of $1000. The branch CDs have a less complicated withdrawal penalties where an account holder needs to pay $25 plus 3% of the amount withdrawn.

Capital One has is FDIC insured with certificate # 4297. It has an asset worth of $108.5 billion and deposits amounting to $72.5 billion. The bank gets a rating of 3.5 stars and 3 stars from BauerFinancial and bankrate.com, respectively.
