Digital Credit Union comes up with 4.5% 16-month and 4.00% 8-month CD Programs
The Digital Credit Union (DCU) has enhanced its CD programs by offering shorter terms. The program features a 16-month program which yields 4.5% APY and an 8-month certificate which gains 4.00% APY.
The special CD programs require a $500 minimum deposit and are also available as an IRA. The new terms may have replaced DCU 15- and 20-month CD offerings before.
DCU members can avail of the program. The credit union welcomes anyone to be part of their organization.
Interested individuals may sign-up online and opt for eligibility by joining one of the organizations listed on their website. An initial membership fee is required to join but the union doesn’t collect any maintaining fees from their members. The cheapest membership is through AAPD or the PRRT&HS which only requires $15.
DCU welcomes residents of specific areas in Massachusetts and Georgia or employees of qualified employers to join DCU without having to join an association.
Some reviews reveal that DCU runs a credit inquiry on its members when needed which can be a temporary downside to one’s credit score.
Money Markets and other Opportunities
Certificate holders may also try the money market accounts with DCU which is highly recommended because of their low interest rates.
The money market accounts come as a free account with no balance requirements and no charges for the first order of checks. It can be utilized to wisely take out your principal when the CD matures.
Another service to consider is the PC Deposit of DCU which allows account holders to deposit checks by sending the banks scanned copies of the checks from home or office. It may come as a very convenient service for people who are not located close to the credit union’s branches.
