ETN Federal Credit Card Union in Colorado offers 4.15% Add On 50-month CD – One of the Highest CD Rates for 2009
The Ent Federal Credit Union offers a special 50-month-certificate with a 4.15% interest rate. To purchase this CD, you only need to deposit a minimum of $5000. This rate is currently posted on their promotion page of the credit union.
Aptly named the Priority Certificate this CD has one the top CD rates possible this year. It also has three key features:
The depositor may add on $1000 to his/her account within the year.
S/he may withdraw up to up to 50% of his/her total balance at any one time without suffering credit union penalty.
S/he may choose to change the CD’s interest rate once within the term.
By itself, the 4.15% yield is already very competitive. As we’ve mentioned, it is among the highest CD rates quoted this banking year. What gives this certificate the extra edge, however, is its withdrawal and add on functions. Most time deposits don’t offer as much leeway, and should the economy worsen, it will be difficult for any depositor to find a CD that offers any higher than 3% interest rate by the end of 2009.
ENT has a long history of top CD rates: In 2006 , ENT promoted a couple of 6% CD offers; while in July 2008 , it offered a 4.25 7-month certificate.
