$100 Checking Account Bonus at American Eagle Credit Union: Get Some Money in the Bank by Following Easy Steps

Banks and credit unions are obviously trying to attract a lot of clients because checking account bonuses are everywhere. If you want the best checking account in the state, though, you might be interested in what the American Eagle Credit Union has to offer. A total of $100 bonus is in the bag if you do the following:

  • You earn $25 if you apply for a Visa Check Card and use it immediately once it’s issued to you.
  • You earn $25 if you make one direct deposit 30 days after you’ve opened the account.
  • You earn $25 if you enroll in the account’s bill pay program and pay at least 3 bills within 30 days of opening the account.
  • You earn another $25 just for doing all of these three.

What’s great about this checking account bonus is that the work required to earn it isn’t as stringent as the work required by the competition. Some banks and credit unions require you to pay at least five bills online for the next three months, and that’s a short leash, if ever there was one.

This bonus is offered to members until October 31, 2010. This brings us to the next question: to get one of the best rewards checking account deals in the country, how do you become a member? Unfortunately, this account isn’t offered nationwide. Only two states can enjoy this deal and they are Missouri and Texas. Even then, not the whole of these two states are eligible for membership.

If you’re in Missouri, you’re only eligible for the account if you live and/or work in these areas:

  • St. Louis
  • Franklin
  • Jefferson
  • St. Charles

Those who are in Texas need to live and/or work in these areas too just to be eligible for membership:

  • Paris
  • Lamar County
  • Metro areas of Dallas City

To be a member, you also have to maintain a minimum of $5 balance in their savings account. There are more details about membership eligibility, and you can find this in the Who-Can-Join page of the credit union. The American Eagle Credit Union is a subsidiary of the bigger Anheuser-Busch Employees’ Credit Union.

The American Eagle Credit Union is federally insured under NCUA Charter #62715.
