• $75 if the account holder completes 5 purchases of at least $25 using the debit card
• $75 for setting up a direct deposit of at least $250 or pay bills of at least $25 online

It seems that you need to drop by their branch to open the checking account. Aside from the Totally Free checking, you can also qualify for the bonus with the BestRate Checking account. The latter though has a monthly fee of $10 if you cannot maintain a balance of $5,000. The Totally Free checking account requires an initial funding of $100.

The bank requires new money into a new checking account for this bonus promotion. It is also limited to one person per household.

The bonus of $150 will be deposited to the account about 75 days after the end of the promo. The bank will issue a 1099 for the crediting of the money to your checking account. There might also be other fees or restrictions involved.
