5.15% APY best reward checking account interest rates with MBT Bank
MBT Bank is still offering their Ultra Checking account which is actually a reward checking account that offers among the best interest rates in the market given that the monthly requirements are met:
• 5.15% APY for balances through $25,000 (this is guaranteed until May 15, 2010)
• 1.01% APY for portions of the deposit above $20K
• 0.25% base interest rate if the monthly requirements are not sufficed
• ATM refunds of up to $15 per month
This best checking account is not on the bank’s website any more but we called the bank and we were able to confirm that they still offer the checking account to local residents.
The checking account has the following monthly requirements:
• Make at least 10 purchases using the debit card
• Set up an ACH automatic debit or a direct deposit
• Request for electronic statements
Interested consumers can open the reward checking account for $100 initial deposit. The bank does not collect monthly service fees and balance requirements.
