Britton & Koontz Bank, NA is pushing for their Smart Rate Checking which is high yield reward checking account that earns the best interest rates given that monthly requirements are met:
• 5.25% APY for deposits through $30,000
• 1.01% APY for portions of the funds above $30K
• Base interest rate of 0.10% when requirements are not met
The best checking account requires the following every month:
• Make 12 points of sale debit transactions
• Make at least one automatic debit or deposit
• Use online banking
• Opt for electronic statements
You can open multiple accounts but take note that you have to meet the requirements for each of the reward checking account.
We can not find anything about ATM fee reimbursements which could be one factor for the attractive interest rates.
