The Campus Federal Credit Union in Louisiana offers their best reward checking account, Lagniappe Checking, earning 4.25% APY for balances through $25000. Amounts above this set ceiling will gain 1% APY.
The account refunds up to $35 ATM fees incurred in any state if the account holder makes on a monthly basis 15 purchases using the debit card, make a direct deposit, bill pay, or ACH automatic debit. The account holder must also opt for electronic statements. The rates will drop to 0.15% if the requirements are not met.
The account does not impose any monthly fees and does not require a minimum monthly balance.
