TCF Bank is still offering a gift card worth $50 for consumers who will open a new TCF Free Checking Account. The account holder may receive a Visa gift card or a groceries card depending on which state you are.

The free checking account can be opened with a deposit of $25. An individual or a business may be eligible for the promo if you have not opened a checking account with TCF in the last 3 months. Taxes for the promo will be on the shoulders of the account holder.

The promo seems not to require a direct deposit. Consumers are very happy receiving the gift cards right on the spot. Online applicants will receive their card after 4 weeks.

One downside of this best reward checking account is that you need to pay for the checks. Online application will require the consumer to select the checks options and they are billed $16.50 for that. Senior accounts offer free checks.

The account has no monthly fees and does not require any minimum maintaining balance. They also do not charge for using their online payment system.
