Wachovia Gives Out $75 Checking Account Bonuses
Wachovia rewards consumers who will open a new checking account with $75 through their new branches across the country. Aside from opening at their new business centers, best checking account holders must also make an initial deposit of $100 and complete 10 transactions within 60 days.
The bank will honor transactions for BillPay, ACH debits, ATM withdrawals, check transactions, and debit card purchases.
The new financial centers are not listed on the bank’s website but are advertised on newspapers. Here are some of the branches and the program’s expiration:
* San Francisco at Market and Kearny will be running the promo until February 15, 2009
* Moreno Valley office along Fir Avenue will give the rewards until March 15, 2009
* The office in Daytona Beach at the Palm Coast Center will follow the scheme until February 15, 2009
The bank limits the $75 bonus to one account per household and requires reporting of the value bonus to the IRS. The credit will be reflected on the within 4 months after opening.
The free checking account of Wachovia does not require any minimum balance and does not charge any monthly fees. Some consumers are worried about hard credit pulls being performed by the bank through TransUnion and Experian but it will be wise to call the bank to confirm this. You may also want to learn more abou the ChexSytem verification that the bank is using.
The prices of checks may vary depending on your location. The bank offers duplicate checks for $8. Wachovia imposes a $25 fee if the consumer will close the account before 6 months.
Another program of Wachovia pays $25 for referring a friend to open a check account. A $25 gift card is given to both the referrer and referee.
