- $1,000 to $2,499.99 will earn an interest rate of 0.25% APY
- $2,500 to $9,999.99 will earn an interest rate of 0.50% APY
- $10,000 to $24,999.99 will earn an interest rate of 0.75% APY
- $25,000 or more will earn an interest rate of 1.00% APY
You can start earning these best money market rates when you deposit a minimum of $1,000 to open an account. You must also maintain an average daily balance of $1,000 or more to earn this best interest rates. The dividends earned on you money market account are compounded and credit every month. The earnings of this account may change anytime without prior notice.
This money in the bank deal allows you to make no more than 6 withdrawals or transfers from your account to another account or to a third party in any month bu means of internet or automatically transfers, preauthorized transfers, telephone order or instruction, or by draft, check, debit card, or similar order. In case you exceed the limit, your money market account may be subject to a fee or it will be closed. You are allowed to make unlimited deposits by mail or over the counter.
The credit union allows you to access your account through their online banking. You can check the activities of your account, make online bill pay, and view your monthly statements electronically. You can also use their 24/7 phone banking to monitor your account and be get updates about their latest promos.
Membership with Valdosta Teachers’ Federal Credit Union is open to students of Valdosta High School as well as employees and retirees of Brooks County Schools, Wiregrass, Valdosta Board of Education, South Georgia Regional Library, Laws Magnolia Furniture Gallery, Laws Furniture Central, and Macvestment, Inc. Persons who belong to several organizations that the credit union is serving are also eligible to join. Immediate family of current members are always welcome to join.
It appears that a branch visit is needed in order to apply for membership. You need to open a share savings account which requires a minimum deposit of $25.
