Altamaha Federal Credit Union offers their best interest rates when you open a money market account with them. The current interest rates are arranged in the following tiers:

$2,500 to $5,000 0.75% APY
$5,0001 to $25,000 1.00% APY
$25,001 and over 1.16% APY

The opening deposit for this money in the bank deal requires an initial funding of $2,500 so you can enjoy the highest interest rates. You need to call the credit union though to find out about the other details of the money market like fees involved, limitations, and other important disclosures.

It is pretty easy to become a member of this credit union. You may be qualified to become a member if you are working, living, worshipping, or studying in the counties of Long or Wayne in Georgia. You will be required to put in a minimum of $25 into a share savings account.
