Delta Community Credit Union is still pushing for their competitive money market rates. The interest rates fell a bit in the past few months but they remain to be very competitive:

$1,000 to $10,000 1.15% APY
$10K to $25K 1.30% APY
$25K to $50K 1.40% APY
$50K to $100K 1.50% APY
$100K and up 1.65% APY

The current interest rates for the money market account started to be in effect last February 1. These can be changed any time so it will be best to call the credit union first before signing up for anything.

The money market offers checks although they are not for free. They also have an ATM card. These services may be subjected to fees. Withdrawal from the account is limited to six per month and the charge for any excess transaction is a stiff fee of $20 each.

The credit union welcomes members of the GettingAhead Association. This organization requires a membership fee of $5. They accept individuals from any state so it will be pretty easy to join. Delta Community also requires a deposit of at least $5 to a share savings account.

The credit union automatically qualifies people from some counties of Georgia and Atlanta to sign up with them. There are also select and employee groups or family which can help you join the credit union.

There is an online application but some members advised that joining them will be faster if you drop by one of their branches. They have offices spread across the metro area of Atlanta. They also have branches in Dallas, Texas particularly in Southlake; Florence, Kentucky; and Salt Lake City in Utah.
