South Central Bank offers a high yield money market account special with a current interest rate of 2.08% APY. This money market special cannot be found on the website of the bank but we were told by the CSR when we verified their CD offerings.
This money in the bank deal is guaranteed to have the high interest rate until January 15, 2010. This money market special is only offered to new customers and can be opened with other promos for certificates of deposit, savings, and checking.
Account opening is done when you visit a local branch. South Central Bank accepts local customers only so it will be wise to call the bank first if you want to avail of the product and you do not live near a branch.
The bank has five branches in Chicago. Their main office is located at W. Roosevelt Road in Chicago, Illinois. The other four branches can be found in W. 35th Street; S. Halsted St.; and S. Wentworth Avenue.
