First Citizens Federal Credit Union continues to offer competitive interest rates for their savings account called Champion Savings. This best savings account is available to teachers, EMS, firemen, and the police force to thank them for providing services to our community. The following are the credit union’s current interest rates:

• $100 to $999.99                       0.75% APY
• $1000 to $2,999.99                  1.00% APY
• $3,000 and above                     1.10% APY

The credit union will require you to have a Champion Checking account to be eligible to open a Champion Savings account. You also need to deposit a minimum of $100 to earn this best savings account rate. Please be reminded that upon opening of your account the interest rate may change, so be sure to contact the credit union to get the latest numbers.

You can be a member of First Citizens Federal Credit Union if you live, attend school, work, worship, or do business in the counties of Norfolk, Nantucket, Dukes, Barnstable, Plymouth, or Bristol in the state of Massachusetts. Once you become a member, your relatives will also be eligible to join the credit union. You need to visit the credit union’s website and complete the membership form. Then you need to deposit a minimum of $1 to open a regular savings account. You also need to maintain the balance, so that the account will not be closed.
