1st Constitution Bank through its online division, 1st Constitution Direct , offers their high yield savings account online with a 3-month special guaranteed interest rate of 1.50% APY.
The guaranteed current interest rate is applicable to balances of at least $10,000 or more. Any deposits below the $10K mark still receives a competitive savings account interest rate of 1.30% APY. The promo interest rate may vary without notice after the 3-month guarantee period.
You can open this high interest savings account by accomplishing a form online. Your initial funds must come from a checking account which is non-1st Constitution. The bank will perform small trial deposits and withdrawals from the account to check the validity of the account. You then have to confirm the transactions by logging in to their website. These are done as part of their fraud protection program.
You must confirm the trial deposits and withdrawal within 45 days after the first transaction. The bank may close your account if you do not validate the account. Once the process is complete you will be able to immediately access their transfer facility.
This money in the bank deal is offered to qualified individuals from any state. You can also open a joint account if you wish to.
The website does not detail the fees which may be involved maintaining the account. It will be wise to ask the bank about these factors which may affect the earnings of your deposit. The bank by the way does a hard credit pull when you open an account.
