MCT Credit Union is offering a high yield savings account which could possibly be the best in all of Texas today. This is called the Kasasa Savings account and it earns an impressive 2.00% APY for balances of up to $25,000. This is a pretty high cap balance for such a generous offering, it’s also listed as a high interest savings account.
The best think about this savings account is that it has no minimum balance requirement. This means that for balances between $0.01 and $25,000, you get to earn the top tier which is 2.00% APY. You also earn 0.50% APY for balances exceeding $25,000. Of course, to earn these high yields, there is a catch. You need to open a Kasasa Checking account and meet all of its requirements. Otherwise, you only earn 0.13% APY for all balances.
To qualify for the top yields, you need to complete 10 check card transactions every month, make one ACH or direct deposit or a bill payment through your account, and agree to receive online electronic bill statements. If purchasing goods using check cards is convenient for you, this is a good savings account deal.
